Tablescapes

October Garden Club Table

October 17, 2012

I was the chairman for the refreshment committee for our October Garden Club meeting. Karla being who Karla is I decided to put together a tablescape and make it a little special for the ladies. Why not, right?

Being October I wanted something special but not so Halloweenish. Starting with my black and white patchwork picnic quilt I made last year I layered it on top of white tablecloths. For height I brought in some blocks of wood I have in my stash. Everyone should really have some. :0) They really do come in handy to add quick height to any table.

In the middle I added a three plate tier to hold food and free up tablespace. In front of the tier I placed three black basket chargers upside down to hold orange plates for more food. I used two vases filled with Jacobs walking stick from my mantle at home to place on each side of the tier, to yet again, give more height to the table.

To finish off I placed a large pumpkin on each end, scattered gourds and a few small pumpkins in the center to carry colors all the way though. I placed white plates with black and white napkins with the letter B for Bloomfield on each end for easy service.

The ladies loved it and it was such a pleasure to put together.
